Most recommendations suggest you don't want to fully charge or fully discharge the battery for the best life-span. I wait until the battery is low but not so low as to get a warning and then charge for 1-1/2 hours.

Dunno if that makes any difference, but at the age of these now, I don't want to risk having battery problems.
