Amazon has changed the location of the percent and page status at the bottom of opened books a couple of operating systems versions ago. Rather than having percent on the right and page on the left, it shows percent on the left and page number on the left - separated by a "-" symbol.
The difference between "old" and "new" helvetica is, that Amazon has removed the boldness of the font, making it harder to read if you choose the smallest font, smallest margin and smallest linespacing.

To clarify, my Voyage has the newest update and did when I took that picture.

It looks much, much worse in picture than it does in person. I almost never notice the color gradient when reading or when even trying to look for it. It's also not a screen issue but just that the light (which is coming from the bottom) isn't uniformly lighting up the kindle. I'm excited for the Voyage 2 but if that's the only thing that will be updated, I'll see no reason to upgrade.
