APNX files exist on my Kindle but the option to show is greyed out in settings and tapping the bottom left doesnt include page numbers either.
I'll post here to let you know but I'll need to get hold of the update as a download so as to keep my Kindle's WiFi off. Have just checked that page numbers are currently working so it will be interesting to see what happens.
