The biggest problem with the Fire and any tablet really, is the power consumption. You can get 10 foot cords at Walgreens so that you can be charging and reading at the same time, but they can bend the wires resulting in a broken cord. I have had one broken cord in 6 years of ithings and ereaders and that's because I rolled over it with my rolling chair. My sister and brother have had their Fires for about 2 months now and have ruined 4 cords between them. So plugged in while using can become expensive.

Make sure it is not the cheap fabric covered cords. They may or may not charge a fire. I know they won't charge a Galaxy.
