Well the Nook app is about 450mb so after installing it, I didn't have any space to download the magazines. Who the hell offers 1gb of internal memory? I could use an external card I suppose but I'm not sure if the magazines are allowed to be stored off the internal memory. And I'm pretty sure apps can't run off the external card, right?

In any case, the tablet is proving itself useful--I needed an alarm clock away from my bed and I didn't want it to be my phone. Today was morning 1 of the rooster alarm via the crappy tablet.

Thanks for the suggestion Conan!
Years ago I picked up a cheap tablet at Walmart that had 8 gigs of memory, but only 1 gig available for apps. I'm guessing you might have a similar situation. There is not much you can do about it that I know of. I think I used "My Alarm Clock" app on it for awhile, I couldn't do much with it. If it has decent audio, maybe you could use it to stream Pandora or something to a bluetooth speaker.
If the tablet allows it, the Pandora app can be stored on an sdcard, and a few other apps. If you have some digital music files you could play them off of a sdcard. Same with ebooks, you could use Moon+ or Fbreader and read the ebooks off of the card, but I'm guessing the screen might not be good for reading.
They do make nice alarm clocks with big digital readouts
