I imagine those of you planning to try "OwnCloud" know that this means you have to have your own Linux server and own enough disk drive to do the backups onto? At least, as I read the online notes. Basically, you are doing your OWN backup.
Which I've always preferred anyway. I mostly use DropBox as a means to shuttle files from one computer to another, and to have a few files visible on all my iOS devices. I never count on cloud storage as my actual backup.
