@PurpleLady both myself and bruceas have contacted Energy Sistems about this and in neither case have they taken the view that there is nothing wrong. When I sent in the report I specifically asked if this was expected behaviour, so we can assume the supplier thinks there is a problem, otherwise they wouldn't say they would be able to fix it, nor would they have supplied bruceas with one replacement cover and the offer of a second.

I understand that putting it to sleep before closing the cover would prevent the problem but so would having a cover designed so that it wouldn't press the buttons.

If this was some sort of generic cover I could understand the issue arising but as this is a cover supposedly designed for the reader I would expect it to work in a seamless manner or else have the deficiency noted in User Instructions.

Perhaps my expectations are different from yours, mine being conditioned by EU Consumer Law regarding fitness for purpose.
