But every time I think I've decided on a tablet, something else seems to come up that makes me back-burner the purchase. I'm ridiculously indecisive when it comes to "luxury" items, especially the first time I buy one and don't know exactly which features are truly going to matter to me as opposed to the ones I think I have to have.

I guess I can't say that anymore
I find mine handy for music, I like the larger-than-a-smartphone-screen so I can see the apps and pick out music easier. Also use them for Overdrive audio books. Connecting them to a bluetooth speaker allows me to move around the house and 'carry' the audio book and music with me. Occasionally I watch Netflix or Hulu on them.
