In this case, the problem was that their online payment system was broken, so I phoned through and paid, with a debit card.
And they told me it had gone through. However it appears it it actually diddn't go through at all. Apparently they sent me a letter to this effect on the 22nd of May (which was never received). And instead of say something sensible, like _phoning_ me. The next stage in their process is to send a letter threatening you with court action.
This is the 2nd time they have threatened to take me to court to get access to my apartment. The last time wasn't even over a bill. They are required by law to do a check on the boiler every 2 years apparently. But they don't inform you first when the engineer is going to be sent round. And as they chose a week day I was at work.
Because they couldn't gain access (what a shock given that during the week I am normally at work) they sent a letter telling me that if I diddn't give them access next time they would again take me to court for access to my property.
