i'm not the only one. some friends of mine make a "christmas tree" out of different things every year, usually it doesn't look anything like a tree at all, it's just an excuse to make a really big decoration for a few weeks. one year they took a lot of hula hoops and tied them together and then attached a bunch of cds 2 by 2 with the label on the inside and hung them from the hoops with fishing line. it didn't look much like a tree but it was really pretty.
so you don't even have to break them and pierce holes in them, if you don't want to ; you could make something with whole cds. i still have a stack of them, my friends keep giving them to me. you want me to send you some ?
