I'd kinda hate to lose my old library - but perhaps I can just find where it's stored and back that up - clear the whole system of everything from the new version - and insert that back.
I'm at a loss. I was teaching a "Making Ebooks with InDesign" class today, and always recommend Calibre - but was only able to show the old version to the students (I teach online, so use my own machine). I suggested they try it, and hoped they'd have a good, working outcome.
This is a great app - and perfect for that class and for my personal use... just wish I could get it to work...
I can look around in the Library and user library on my Mac for files - but if anyone has any input on where they're stored, it may ensure I don't miss anything...

It uses the same library (and I am fairly positive no backwards-incompatible database changes have happened between 1.48 and now, either).
The default library is "Calibre Library" -- either in your Documents folder, or in your home folder, not sure which. (On linux it is in $HOME, on Windows I believe it is in "My Documents".)
Hope you figure out what is going wrong.
