It's a little hard for us to judge this as you haven't actually told us what happened to you Aura HD. You just said "suddenly died" and that the Aura H2O suffers from the same "sudden death" issue. I didn't know that any Kobo device suffered from a "sudden death" issue, so I have no idea what you are talking about and hence cannot tell you if the Glo HD suffers from the same problem or not. And I can't do the same googling because I don't know what the symptoms are.

I have both the Aura H2O and the Glo HD (and a Glo and a Touch). Both are excellent. The Aura H2O was bought when the light failed on the Glo (over two years heavy use). The Glo HD was bought a couple of months later because I could. The Glo HD gets a lot more use as the smaller size is more convenient during my commute. Personally, I can't fault either.
