Not to start another thread, when I add a book to Calibre, folder gets created xxxxyyyywhaever (nn) having book name and book number.
I did delete one of the books manually screwing up most likely internal book count. Example: abcd1 (23), abcd2 (24). I deleted abcd2 and now when adding new book I get abcd3 (25).
How to reset that book count?
How to eliminate that book count to appear beside book title at all?
Bad doggy, now run Library Maintenance and clean up your mess (and don't change anything about a folder/filename, from the OS, in the future)

The {ID} is not sequential after initial use.
It will never be reused. There are gaps created whenever the book is deleted or merged and sometime when renamed.
