I received an ARC of Baby Girl by Bette Lee Crosby. I have read all books by this Indie author and I have to state she weaves a story that will pull your heartstrings. I have been warned this one is a tear jerker and I need to have tissues handy. I know I will finish this today so I am also going to start Tender Touch by Charlene Raddon. This was republished by the author. Originally published by Zebra in 1994. After Tender Touch I plan on reading the other 4 books by Charlene Raddon, Forever Mine, The Scent of Roses, & To Have and to Hold. All books were published by Zebra and republished as ebook by the author. Updates to come sometime this week.
I am very far behind in posting. But then I am very far behind in writing reviews for the books I have read. Maybe one day I will get caught up on everything in my life. Will not happen today. I am going to attempt to clean the house unless the animals decide I should do something else.

I loved the book from Bette Lee Crosby. It was a tear jerker and so amazing. The author did tell me parts of the story were based on real life. I highly recommend anything by Bette. She has a unique way of writing that is so refreshing.

Also finished all the books by Charlene Raddon. When these were originally published in the 90's I know I did not read them. I was to much in to Stephen King or books based in regency England. The books were good but not something that blew me away. The writing was fine. The problem was me. I am really on a cozy mystery kick right now and nothing else is measuring up to what my brain wants to read.

I have an Indie Reads author challenge that I am attempting to work thru this year. Read at least 10 books by indie authors from the indiereader.com list. I started reading Ladd Springs by Dianne Venetta. The book was okay for me. Being a farm girl I have a problem with land being take or purchased by large corporations so they can build someone new because it is easier for them to take farm land than tearing down an abandoned building. The writing was okay but there were several editing errors in the book. Then I have a problem with characters getting everything thy desire. Even characters that abused or cheated on someone. They received what they wanted.

After finished book one I moved on to book two. Ladd Fortune by Dianne Venetta and it was the same. Editing errors through out the book and characters receiving everything they want. Again this book was okay for me. Not what I was expecting after reading the description. I wonder why the author gave the characters everything they wanted. I really did not enjoy this book and it took longer to finish than I planned.

I started book 3 in this series last night Hotel Ladd by Dianne Venetta and I got two or three pages into the book. In book two a female character cheated on who she was with. This character was mean and abusive to everyone in the area. Well she ended up pregnant and her hearts desire was the child belonged to the man she cheated on. Well again she got what she wanted. After reading that I DNF'ed this book and the rest of the series. I am not going to read a book where all characters receive everything they want no matter what.

Back in November Harlequin author Ryshia Kennie contacted me asking me to read/review her debut book with them Suspect Witness. I plan to start and finish this tonight and get the review wrote for release day.

Have a great day everyone and if you have cold weather stay warm and remember spring is about 8 weeks away.
