W8 Extended support runs until 2023 (my guess is these are mostly stuff that overlaps anyway and not special effort)
EOS does not mean your system stops working. FUD

is used to sell more new hardware than actual feature gains.
The biggest problem:
Drivers
That perfectly operational, networked MFC sitting over there, now only Prints with W10 unless I run a USB cable. (With XP, it Printed, Scanned and Faxed from any PC on the network)
New Hardware (accessory) may not have XP, Vista drivers
My Wife's Brother Sewing Machine can't USB connect to any 64bit (Windows) OS and the sewfile management (Sneakernet using a PCMCIA type memory card) won't run (even in XP incompatible

mode) on W7 up )
