Did you restart ThinVNC yourself or do you have it setup as a "Windows Service" that auto-starts when you boot Windows?

Is you Windows PC also serving as the AP (Access Point) for your Wifi network?

If so, then it (Windows) is working just as you set it up and the Kindle VNC client can survive the network down-time.
