Ice sucks, although if you wait a bit and don't try to chip it off immediately it will develop air pockets underneath that make it a little easier. Our problem with ice is that once it is there. It is there until mid-March. Today's Special Weather Statement is:

"A low pressure system will track across northern Alberta this morning into southern Manitoba on Wednesday. Snow, rain and freezing rain will begin to affect west-central Saskatchewan this afternoon and spread southeastward into southwestern Manitoba beginning tonight.

While some areas will see brief freezing rain, other areas may see a few hours of freezing rain, creating slippery conditions. The risk of freezing rain will last until Wednesday morning in eastern Saskatchewan and western Manitoba."


Hooray. Fingers crossed it tracks North of the highway.
