I use writer2xhtml which is part of writer2latex and is quite different from writer2epub. But il also does not include any id in the p tag.
Apologies - it is the writer2html extension that I use and which will export to EPUB. The similarity of names to Luke's writer2epub, which I usually think of simply as W2E, was what caused the confusion on my part.
