The issue is that for some ePub books, the size of the link's tap zone is the size of the link text itself, so unless the publisher has expanded the link to include more than a tiny superscripted number then you will need a very precise tap to activate the link.
In KePub books the tap zone is much larger, so large in fact that it sometimes extends to adjacent pages and is (IMO) easy to activate by mistake.
If you have trouble with activating the links in ePubs some possible work-arounds are:
* Use a stylus
* Increase the font size
* Convert the ePub book to KePub
* Edit the ePub book to enlarge the link (this can be done without changing the appearance of the link in any way, but the area tapped to activate it can be made to extend to the whole word rather than just the superscriped number.)
