Thanks, Kovid. Under remove_tags, I see lines containing articleFooter, story-footer-links, page-footer, footer promos clearfix, footer links clearfix, footer, and page-footer.
I plan to comment these out one by one and see what happens. Please let me know if I've misunderstood!
