Of course I wear them. I'm wearing some right now. (I have silk ones that fit nicely under my jeans for most weather; if it gets colder I have some even warmer ones I can switch to.) But when I'm sitting still, a quilt is still a good idea, as I tend to go into this "power saving" mode where no heat gets sent to my extremities, so I need an envelope to capture core heat and redistribute it to my toes and such.

Well, in fact it was my local New Hampshire Public Radio, re-broadcasting "As It Happens." I think that's a CBC show, but I may have my terms mixed up. The segment about the longjohns was extremely cute, in any case. I've never heard kids get so excited about something that prosaic. Some of the kids chose to wear them on their heads for the math lesson that was immediately to follow.
