Try:
'U' - Export USB
connect USB cable, Kindle to PC
delete any 'ENABLE_DIAGS' file(s)
safely remove (or eject)
disconnect USB cable
Follow the 'Disable Diags', and 'Reboot' path (I think there is another menu after making that selection.
