Drelik's post says "a few pages back". That isn't explained by a confusion between a tap and a swipe. Neither is supposed to turn more than on page at a time.

Unfortunately, the problem of the book going back a few pages when turning the page has been in the firmware for a long time. But, it is inconsistent. Some people saw it all the time. Others, including me, rarely saw it. Kobo acknowledged it, and must have worked on it and as I haven't seen any complaints recently. But, in one of the recent firmware versions, I saw it a lot (a couple of times per hour of reading). But, it's been cleaned up again as I haven't noticed it in the last few weeks.
