As you say, people are different. I always look at the book's size on the product information. I find it a more reliable indication of the book's heft than the "pages" estimation appearing there. If it's not that, then once again I wonder: what the heck IS it? Why is it there? Are you telling me that Jeff Bezos sits in his pool house, slurping margaritas and assigning KBs and MBs at random?

I defer to your wisdom, because you have formatted a hundred times more books than I have, but I find it very, very curious. I also wonder why the size posted on the Amazon store page is less to be trusted than the size shown on the book's pricing page, though it is certainly true that the delivery fees I see on my Prior Month reports more closely relate to the latter.
