If you buy from Apple you will only be able to read on an Apple device because drm removal doesn't work on those ebooks. If you buy epub books from anywhere that requires ADE, only install ADE 2.x. Any higher version is capable of using hardened drm even if it's not currently used. If you buy from Amazon make sure it is able to be read on your device of choice. Some Amazon ebooks can't be downloaded to K4PC, but Amazon will always show what devices it can be downloaded to if an ebook has that restriction.
