Well, I received my price match. Now to figure out how the amount makes sense.

Original Kobo price: 7.99
Original Kobo total: 8.75 (after 9.5% tax)
Reported lower price: 6.99
Refund amount: 2.64

Hm. I would've expected $1.095 back for the base difference (adjusted for tax), plus $0.875 back as the extra 10%, for a total of $1.97, but clearly they didn't do that. Instead, it looks like they applied the price match to my post-tax total instead of the pre-tax price: $8.75 minus $6.99 plus $0.875 equals $2.635, which rounds to $2.64.

That's... interesting.
