Some sellers do provide that info, some don't. Even those that don't usually have some information telling you what the books they're selling are compatible with. In what way are the books "unavailable" to you?

I don't know what would be better than having a tool that easily removes the DRM for you within seconds so you can use or convert the book however you want. No DRM on any books would be better of course, but in the current publishing climate it's not going to happen.
