There is where you will find the serial number.

Is the device Jail broken with our JB?
Do you have anything on it that can not be discarded?
If no to both -

If you intend to use any of our add-ins, then install our Jailbreak before you do the update.
Try doing the update by side-loading the Amazon posted update package as suggested above.
