Make sure that is a PW-2 by checking the first 4 (or 6) characters of its serial number in this chart:

(It looks like a PW-3)

What you are pointing at looks like the SIM card connector point.

If it is, then those conductors will be wired directly to the 3G card connector points.
The Kindle only has access to the SIM card via AT commands to the 3G card.
