I think this is only something the Calibre developers can fix, in making sure the application interface is compliant with the 1024 x 600 resolution found on all the popular Netbooks.
I don't know if this has been reported before, I think you can log it as an issue, with the Wiki page on the Calibre website.
I haven't logged it myself, because I'm waiting until next payday, as Xmas has left me bit low on cash, to make a donation to the fund, and I feel cheeky asking for things to be fixed, before having made a donation.

Done exactly what you said; reported fault and donated.. It's the first time I've used open source software, not including the Linux platform this computer's using, but the first time I've got something that's got exactly you want. Worth donating towards....
