I am quite fond of fluidity of data, as it happens. But I certainly didn't need Microsoft to supply me with that with Windows 10 (and as I'm sure you know, it would be sad if I did, since I don't actually use anything Microsoft and therefore wouldn't be able to do it).

I am fine with Google et al. doing it -- you can trivially opt out and use, say, DuckDuckGo.
How do you opt out of a pre-installed, heavily controlled market, that **forcibly** upgrades you to Windows 10?
Not everyone who cares, has the skills to install a new operating system.
