Modify panel-view ebook to generic comic-view?

I have some graphic novels from amazon (azw3) that support panel view (zooms to view each panel full screen). I prefer to view each page as a whole, but there is a large margin around the page that I want to get rid of. Using calibre to look at one of the pages, the margins are part of the image.

I know with some comic converters, it can create a book where the kindle will use some sort of generic comic view, where it will automatically crop out the white margins around the page and double-tapping will only zoom into quadrants of the page.

Is there a way to alter a panel view ebook so to make the kindle use the generic comic view instead?
