For the reading order, if you need to go beyond the series index order, you can try the Reading List plugin. With this, you create lists of books. The lists can be based on a search, or manually maintained. And the books in each list can be ordered.

For books with subseries, you can also use decimal indices. This is usually done as the integers are the main sequence, and the decimals are within each of these. So, you might have 1, 2, 3.1. 3.2, 3.3, 4.1, 4.2 for a major series with two subseries. That is assuming that sorting by the indices represent the correct sequence. If it is something different, such as 1, 2, 3.1, 4.1, 3.2, 4.2, 3.3, then a reading list would probably be the way to go.
Thanks for the brief explanation,
but if i use reading list plugin, then the list will be growing unmaintain and i dont think i can remember all of that again after a few time. but to use it as temporary reading list to keep order then it should work. but i think not for the long term.

maybe scraping using xpath or regex like import list plugin on wikipedia for the author info should work, so we can choose to keep the author info that we want. and if something changes we can sync it again. thats just ideas..
