Worthwhile to remember there are other options to back up books and music, digital video is a particular problem that I see no solution for, which is why I quit buying digital video at Amazon. The core of this issue, to me at least, is owning/controlling digital purchases no matter what Amazon does with customer accounts. The more customers who end up with closed accounts and trouble accessing their purchased digital content, the more it convinces me not to buy anything digital from Amazon that I cannot personally store and save. Google offers a back up for up to 1,000 books and 50,000 songs for free.
I agree , I also have not purchased digital videos, from Amazon for the same reason. As far as closure of accounts goes, lets hope the Lawyers \ Barristers all shop on Amazon. I think they probably all have accounts
