I generally keep whatever I am currently reading on
my ereader; I tend to read series of ten or more books
at a time so it makes sense.Once read, I remove them
and add my 'next batch' of books.When I first had my
reader I tended to fill it with a couple of thousand books;
this,I found tended to slow down the page turns and the
reader in general.So I began to trim the number of ebooks
down.
All the ebooks I have,I keep backed up on my PC and
on either a usb stick or burned to a disc.That way,I can
have the option of re-reading them anytime in the future.
Once in a blue moon, I find a book that is so bad or so
uninteresting (to me) that I will permanently delete it.
Given the cost of the books in relation to the pleasure I
get from the reading of them, it makes sense to save them,
as I would with a real paper book!
