@Toxaris - if I check the Automate process S/R rules without 'confirm' flag set setting then some rules are 'skipped' - i.e. replacements don't happen. If I uncheck that setting (and keep tapping 'Y') then no rules are skipped (same document/same rules).

I have not been able to determine a pattern. It looks like some sort of timing/run-on problem to me. I'm using Word 2010 on Windows 10 and my files are DOCXs.

I cannot say with certainty that this is only happening in latest version. The fact is, I suspect it may have been happening ever since you did the change to using XML. I have often thought to myself "WTF, I thought I had an S/R rule for that, I'll check when I have a moment". Of course such a moment never eventuates; in part at least, because I forget the WTF

I have hundreds of rules (~90% have <Permission>false</Permission>), and any one of my documents will only ever match a fraction of the rules. Hence the Automate process. . . setting is invaluable to me.
