That question deserves its own thread.
The people who are looking at this thread are the people who want to wish Kovid happy holidays -- not necessarily the help mavens.

Series is series. You *could* put series in the tags, the same way you could put author in the tags. But that seems rather redundant, when you have a dedicated metadata slot for a very specific (and standard) type of metadata.
