There are two drivers for the Nooks. Unfortunately, both show "The Nook" when connected. Which driver is used depends on the device id of the connected device. Looking at the driver code, I think the Simple Touch is handled but the "Nook Color Device Interface" driver and hence the "NOOK_COLOR" plugboard. A way to check is to open the driver configuration when the device is connected and see what is the title of the dialog.
