Should I be doing anything with the device options I get when I click on the device drop down? Would that make any difference?

My NOOK Simple Touch software is up to date.

I appreciate the continued efforts to help.
The message at the bottom of the screen usually matches the driver (Named for the first model that uses that profile). The original Nook had a slight small screen. The Color: went to 800x600. Maybe they also changed the DB structure??
You are the first I remember, having Nook plugboard issues (and the ST has been around more than a few weeks ), that does not totally eliminate a gotcha, but it seems unusual.

Can you copy and paste you template FROM the plugboard.
(I say copy and paste, so we see the precise entry. Typos do lurk )
