Yes Virginia, it snows in the desert.
Texas:Far west and the panhandle get several snowstorms a year. West Texas the region as opposed to the town gets cold and snow a couple of times a year. The Dallas region might or might not get snow. East Texas is the same way. Northern Texas along the Red River usually gets some cold weather.
Central Texas where the town of West is located usually gets down in the 40's. Rarely do they freeze.
The Hill Country is the same way.
The coastal regions and the valley might get to freezing about every 25 years.
Saturday morning we left my mom's and the temperature was 77. By the time we got up here the temperature had dropped to 47 and was falling fast. When we left the restaurant a couple of hours later, it was in the thirties. 20 minutes after we got into the house, the ice storm hit.
