Water on the screen of my Glo causes a bright spot (if the frontlight is on) while the water remains there, but it does no permanent harm, the bright spot disappears once the water has been dried off.
I usually use a dry microfibre cloth on my Glo, but now and then I use water if there is something stuck to the screen (like a dried-up spot of tea). It has done no harm in the three years I've had it.
