I'm hoping The Golem and the Jinni gets a little more love. I'm didn't vote for it, but I'm willing to give it a try. While I liked The Golden Compass, I don't want to re-read it (and be left hanging one-third into the trilogy), but I don't remember it well enough to discuss it.
