Yes, it is set to MTP and still Calibre is not able to connect with the Fire without an error prompt. I even tried rebooting the computer, restaring the fire tab yet still continued to get the following error message.

Like I said, Calibre is able to send books to my fire via email which is a good workaround since hooking it up via usb isn't working. However, if someone would like to manage a large book collection on their fire via calibre it would be useful to have this bug fixed.

I just noticed on the error log that I may've downloaded the 32 bit version of Calibre. Would downloading the 64 bit version solve the problem since my computer is running 64 bit Windows?

Well so far the kindle fire isn't working with the 64bit version of Calibre either.
