As I remember an amber CRT from my school, and also remember that I liked the color for reading, I tried to replicate it as close as possible for some of my uses (IRC client, Linux console etc.)
The values I use are:
B89000 (R: 185; G: 128; B:00)
If you have better ones, or even a still working original to check, you're more than welcome to correct mine.
