Performance and battery life are usually trade-offs and tablets tend to push toward performance. I have a Galaxy Tab S which is very fast and it gets good battery life but that's partly why it's expensive.

Ereaders, on the other hand, generally are designed with battery life in mind and the designers make sure it's fast enough to get the job done and beyond that they don't worry about it.

Some are faster than others but the differences are very small. I'm not aware of any particularly fast or slow ereaders.

I don't think you're going to have much luck looking for a high performance ereader. I'm not sure why you'd really care about that. My suggestion is to pick the feature set you want in the price range you want.
