The built-in sound system always suck on these small, thin sets.
Any decent sound bar can make a HUGE improvement, in case you ever want to enjoy an action movie. :-)
I added a $99 Panasonic bar that I got on clearance last year, and the sound is much more enjoyable, dialog much clearer even at low volume, etc.

Thanks.

We have it hooked up to our stereo system so when we want good sound, we use that. It's just that we have to do some switch thingie and turn on this and that and then there are 3 remotes to run everything...and so we don't bother very often. We had a guest one time who was over watching the game with us. We hadn't even thought about the fact the sound wasn't on because we never have it on. He finally asked why the sound wasn't working. When we told him we never turned it on, his eyes got REALLY big and he sat there for a while looking like he might burst. I finally asked if it bothered him and he said, "It's driving me crazy with no sound!"
But it's just football. The announcers blather on about nothing and we already know the rules so there's not much of interest to hear! We did turn the sound on for him. But it made me laugh because we had no idea it was bugging him.
