When it comes to city roadways, what is the difference between the following: road, street, avenue, boulevard, and way? While riding/driving I've noticed that they terms seem to be used interchangeably. Granted, some cities seem to use "street" when referring to numbered roads (like "95th Street"), but otherwise on the whole there doesn't seem to be much of consistency.
