In spite of trying to read books, I always veer towards my smartphone when outdoors and tablet at home browsing on internet and spending time on facebook, whatsapp and news apps.

Recently I carried my nook on a long flight to US but ended up watching movies or sleeping as the nook does not have an inbuilt light. So, I got myself a brand new H2O and gave my nook to my son.

Now the H2O is a constant companion on my bedside. I am trying to cultivate the habit of reading books. But whatever the books I tried to read, I am loosing interest after starting the book and with difficulty I am finishing the book. Atleast I am not abandoning the book. That is the reason why I am veering towards a tablet and the smartphone for general browsing.
The key to cultivating a reading habit is to find books you are interested in. Just because you start a book does not mean you have to finish it. If you are losing interest, put that book down and find another.
What kind of shows and movies do you like? Those are the types of books you should be looking for.
Just because War and Peace is a classic, that does not mean it would be a good fit for you.

This is why when someone asks me for good authors, I ask what they like.
That way I know I won't recommend something they wouldn't like.
