Your fb.modes file is correct for the DXG.
I don't know about the graphics driver. I think everything is written to the framebuffer by the CPU so don't think the acceleration if available would be used anyway. The eInk updates so slow the drawing is probably fast enough unless you are doing anything complicated.
Be sure to try the kpv for viewing ebooks and pdfs and compare with the Amazon factory programs.
