Recently finished Those Who Wish Me Dead by Michael Koryta a rather enjoyable romp what made the book was the baddies

I haven't read such a creepy characterization in quite a while every time one of them purred "marvelous" I got a chill up my spine. Without them the book would have been rather limp.
Now listening to After I'm gone by Laura Lippman narrated by Linda Emond usually I'm not all that keen on female narrators but I think this one is doing a very good job.
As for the story it seems to lack pace or urgency in fact the mystery plot seems rather blah however I am really enjoying the female characters they are very well written and I'm mainly listening just to see what happens to them all.
